VOICES FROM PALESTINIAN EXILES

Welcome to Voices from Palestinian Exiles. Feel free to learn more about Palestine and the current conflict.

Short Intro to VOPE

The situation of Palestinian refugees is considered to be the most protracted, most complex and most sensitive in the world. The right to return or compensation is enshrined in international law.

The “Voices from Palestinian Exiles (VOPE)” project aims to make the voices of those affected heard and to promote a positive vision. This vision is to be based on a valid legal and social science foundation.

The project brings together universities, students, graduates, young academics and scientists from universities in five Arab countries and Germany in an intensive scientific and personal exchange. For all involved, it is also a process of self-reflection, of engagement with the group, with science and practice, with one’s own and foreign perspectives and values.

This dialogue addresses what is currently and foreseeably the most difficult topic in German-Arab discourse, which, due to the escalation of the Middle East conflict, threatens to destroy decades of rapprochement. Overcoming the current speechlessness is all the more necessary.
